The Zoology Department was established in year 2019 with the sole aim of providing training in practical and conceptual skills in Zoology.
At present one full time contractual faculty and one visiting faculty are working in the department as well as 17 students are pursuing their undergraduate studies. Ms. Kavita Amkar is the current Head of the Zoology Department. B.Sc. course with a combination of Chemistry, Botany and Zoology is offered by College.
Vision
- To provide quality education to the students from remote, rural, underdeveloped areas of Konkan and especially to the economically and socially backward sections of society.
Mission
- To train students in Zoological sciences and to equip them to apply themselves meaningfully in any activity requiring zoological expertise.
Aims and Objectives
1. Enable the students to acquire knowledge of Zoology and Zoological terms.
2. To train students in a wide range of science-based skills those provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines.
3. To develop an ability to make accurate observation of animals so as to classify and identify them.
